Kibune has had its doors open for dine-in for 38 years for all but the months from March to October 2020. Happily, it reopened in October & has had regulars flocking back to enjoy its fine Japanese fare & great service. I am one of...those regulars. I was delighted when I called this month to be told it had reopened for dine-in, quickly going over to the well- frequented Kitsilano eatery — just off the corner of Cornwall & Yew— for some of my favorite dishes. The first night back, I had the California roll with real crab, followed by tuna & salmon donburi, accompanied by Japanese beer. All dishes were delicious, as usual made by its owner/ chef & graciously served by his nephew. I ended my meal — where most start off — with a small serving of miso soup. It, too, was delicious & one could almost feel its goodness flowing directly to replenish one’s body after the first sip. It is only 2$ & a perfect end before setting out for home on a rainy cold night. Kibune is open from 4:30 to 9:30 pm every night but Monday. Posted by S FullerMore
