I was preparing for a meeting and needed a quick but filling lunch and just walked past Taf's on Granville, no time to wait. The sandwich board advertised a "too good to be true" lunch deal so I went for it. Excellent choice. I was...quickly seated, handed a menu, and given a much needed water. The special was soup, salad and a sandwich. The price was about what you'd pay for a couple hours parking (on the street, without getting a ticket, IE: CHEAP). I thought I was delivered the wrong order about 5 minutes later when the fresh cauliflower cream soup, Mediterranean salad, and ham sandwich were served. All this! For me? No way! It was very tasty with hints of fresh ground spice in the soup, rich ham and cheese between a ciabatta type bread, and doctor's orders greens. I also partook in the glass of beer special (which I am positive was not on the bill...sorry I owe Taf's on that...next time). Really, this is the best meal for the price in Vancouver (even if you pay for the beer). As there will definitely be a next time, and I'll bring friends along, and pay for the unbilled beer, I strongly recommend hitting Taf's whether you are in a rush or looking for a casual table by Vancouver's most colourful street. Not a problem anywhere with this place.
