My daughter and her partner take his mom and us out every year to this restaurat on Christmas Eve. We have our favourite dishes and start with the large hot and sour soup, and one medium shrimp wonton shop to share. There is always enough…for a container for the kids to take home left over. We order the fried pork with salt and pepper, lemon chicken, sesame chicken with a dip sauce, beef in black bean and garlic which has lots of veggies and of course they are served with rice. Tried a soy dish with a dark green vegetable I didn’t recognize, a bit like spinach and large squares of soy in a sauce that were very good. The last dish was the Ho Fan with noodles and it was also quite delicious. Next year I plan to try the duck. The staff were busy and for this evening they close early and reservations are definitely required. There are only two seatings, the last of which is 7 p.m.
We hadn’t called ahead to reserve so our wait time was about an hour. No problem! Lots of places to shop close by. The food was delicious! Our favorites were the spring rolls, lemon chicken and vermicelli noodles.
Portions small, refills for tea cost extra, atmosphere lousy, restaurant opened at 4pm but when we arrived at 345pm there were people seated inside and eating but when we entered we were refused entrance and told to return in 15 minutes????? the food was expensive…and lacked flavor, portions only filled two thirds if that of serving plates…would not recommend this place ..we went there for a special occasion my dad’s 97th birthday and were very disappointed ..
