After seeing all the ads regarding the reopening of a restaurant in the lower level of the Chinese Cultural Centre featuring dim sum i decided to check it out. Unfortunately the dim sum is held in a steam table and thus the quality and temperature…are impacted. It is a very limited offering of dim sum items among offerings of western style chinese food, Malaysian food and some Indian food offerings. Sometimes trying to do too much is too much and such is the case here. When going for dim sum, that is the focus I want the restaurant to have so it would have been nice just to have had a dim sum focus. As well experience dictates that steam tables dont do the delicate dim sum items any favors and such is the case here. Oh well back to the old standards.
Just found out that Shangri-La Palace is now closed and a new restaurant will be opening soon. Disappointing as we liked their lunch buffet. Even my work colleagues liked it.
