Fantastic food and service! First time at this restaurant and will definitely be back. I had an amazing omelette (prosciutto, figs and brie – YUM!) with side salad. All 5 in our party enjoyed their meals and the service was EXCELLENT.
Fabulous sever, Rene, who was professional and timed his visits back to the table well. Food was tasty and plentiful. Near to theatre which was convenient.
Great experience, and will return when we are in Toronto again. Rene was a real joy – says at 20 years there he is one of the newer servers ! Nice to see a successful family run restaurant in the downtown core. Thanks, Richard
Love the wings and steak. The steak was tense and juicy. The side of sweet potato mash was delicious.
We shared the sweet potato gnocchi and the pad thai and both were incredibly tasty. Our server was lovely and even offered to change the glass of wine I ordered when she pointed out there was something on the menu that I would prefer more.
Quiet environment, good spacing between tables. Food is good, service was excellent. We were going to a show and the service was fast and our server was very polite.
We will definitely be back.
Portico is a relatively quiet restaurant in a hotel, downtown. The host and server were welcoming and pleasant. My husband and I were there for an early, pre-theatre dinner, so we only ordered entrees. The server, drinks and food arrived without any big delays and our meals were tasty, the service very good. We enjoyed that we were able to have a conversation without yelling over loud music, like most of the more upscale restaurants downtown. I’d recommend it for dinner with a friend, spouse or business meal, and especially pre-theatre or show.
Food was very good and the service was excellent. Not overly pricey and nice atmosphere. I would definitely recommend it.
Quiet place for a nice friend’s lunch! Will be back for sure.
I certainly want to come here again Had black cod and risotto from the menu with devil’s chocolate cake to end with. Worth the money . Love the base sause they used and nice ambience to eat. Was quiet than normal but good service. Worth going again.
I had a robust meeting with a colleague, and the service and ambiance was perfect. The food and beverages were top-notch, and I will frequent this restaurant for future meetings!
Amazing restaurant.Great ambiance! Great service!!
Great service. Excellent food. Not to busy. Restaurant is located inside a hotel.
We were so pleased with our visit to Portico, and would highly recommend to anybody who is looking for a well cooked, flavourful dinner and a respite from the hustle and bustle in the city. Steps from the Elgin Theatre, we were well taken care of by courteous and extremely professional staff. To top it off, our meals were wonderful! Pasta sauces were well done and nicely balanced for flavour, as was the risotto. The price was very reasonable. Pay a visit! You won’t be disappointed!
Quiet, undiscovered place. Good food and drink. Good Value.
Our waiter was friendly, welcomed us and was very at tentative during the entire meal. Only concern was navigating the stairs to use the restrooms. Perfect location for attending the Elgin Theatre.
What a great restaurant. Yummy food. Wonderful service. I’d go again.
Location was good, close tothe theatre. We enjoyed our dinner. The service was great.
Quiet place, easy to have a conversation. Good good and value.
Very quiet. Service was fast. Server was very nice and had good recommendations for us. Washroom was up a flight of stairs and dining room was not very big. Overall a very good experience. Would definitely go back.
We dined at portico prior to going to theatre. Service was friendly and efficient. Great food particularly the feature flatbread. Would definitely visit again!
On arrival we were met by a very courteous waitress, our dinner was excellent, served by the Sam young lady, always had a smile.
Good food at a very fair price, with excellent service.
The last time I was at Portico’s was in the mid-2000s. I had good memories eating there when I worked in the area -a variety of different choices on the menu, healthy and delicious. To my surprise it continues to be. We enjoyed ourselves and ate everything off of our plates. Will definitely would go back more often!
Venue, food and service especially was a pleasant surprise as it was my first time there.
Great place for business meetings where you want to actually hear each other.
The service was good our server Nikita was very attentive. The food was also good and the portion was good although in our experience the cut of steak we got was rather tough and had a lot of sinew which spoiled the main course. The noise level was due to a guest on the bar lounge side that kept talking in a loud voice for the entire dinner, nobody seemed to tell the person to lower their voice. The main host and a male server were also talking about other guest in a loud manner which as a guest I would not want to hear because it made us think that when we leave they’ll be gossiping about how we were as guests.
Lovely atmosphere. Nice food with easy choices.
