My son took me here for a Fathers Day present. Most of the family was present; all of us had great meals. My fried squash blossoms were better than anything I had in Italy. The pasta was perfect, and satisfying without being heavy on the...stomach. The organic wines were funky and eye-opening. The desserts of tiramisu and cheesecake -- which the kitchen sent to our table as complimentary, since they had learned we were there for Fathers Day -- were delicious. The tidbits of charcuterie and cheese, to be taken off the counter by customers, were free! The decor was cozy, welcoming and understated. The staff? Friendly and without pretension. This is what dining out should be. Delicious, artlessly artful food served up without fanfare by people who know what they're doing, in comfortable surroundings. One of my best meals ever. A gem, one which I write about reluctantly since I would keep it in the family, but which deserves all the kudos it gets.
