Went to this restaurant on a recommendation, what a mistake. Had a drink at the bar for Happy Hour and a nice plate of olives. Then the disappointment began. Was celebrating my wife’s 1st golf Eagle and wanted a good bottle if wine. The least...expensive bottle was a 2016 Chianti which was priced at $60. I checked on my Vivino App and it sold in the US for $13.34. Bit the bullet and ordered it, it was mediocre without much body. We had to wait 45 minutes before our food was served at 6:30 PM, and we were concerned because we were told our table had to cleared for the next couple by 7:30. I then ordered the special: Duck pasta with Anchovies, this was also very much lacking in taste, it was cloying and really didn’t taste the Anchovies. My wife also ordered a pasta dish which came out less than hot! We had to send it back and it wasnt reserved until 20 minutes later. During dinner I requested some grated cheese to put on my pasta. Service was less than satisfactory as our server never replenished our water or offered us bread with our meal. When I received the not only was I charged for the cheese-$2.00 but unbelievably there was an additional $6 so called tax on the wine. When I requested to speak to the mgr., he came by was rude, took off the cheese charge but insisted the wine tax was legitimate. I have lived in BC for almost 20 years and no restaurant has ever put a surcharge/tax on a wine purchase.
