I've always been a big fan of the Meat & Bread Porchetta Sandwich. With the current COVID-19 restrictions in place, I noticed the Broadway location has a Porchetta Meal Kit available for picup that includes the porchetta with roasted vegetables so I thought I would...give it a try. You need to place your order online one day in advance. When I showed up, my order was already packed and ready to go. Easy. I got home and noticed they placed re-heating instructions in the bag, which we followed. It's important to note the meal kit is the meat and vegetables only, no bread. You need to provide your own bread if you want to make a sandwich. Here's what I thought: - Porchetta - Good, but could be better with proper reheating. The skin part, which is really the best part, is just as good reheated. But I think pork meat dries out too much in the reheat. If eaten right away, I would almost be better not to reheat at all, or if you wanted it a little warmer, maybe just put it in the microwave for just the right amount of time so not to make it drier. The salsa verde is good, just like what you find in the sandwich. - Roasted Vegetables - Very good. I'm ot the biggest vegetable fan, but the potatoes, carrots and fennel re-heated were suprisingly good. Overall, for $32 I thought it was a good deal. Easily good for 2 people, and up to 4 people with smaller appetites. I think it's worth getting.
