Lot 185 at Canada Place has a lot going for it, most especially the great service it provides. Nelson manages the cafe & wine bar, sadly only operating as a takeout place with patio seating, under the current restrictions. He is ably assisted by Hector...& chef James & new recruit Mika. All four are a delight & are most welcoming. It gets its edgy name from the fact that the area from Burrard on to Stanley Park was originally designated as Lot 185. The wine bar is nicely located above the cafe & will be a great spot once Vancouver gets back to the new normal. It is located on the west side building of the Conference Complex & even in these times of limited seating, it offers some good views. I was booked for a vaccination when the new phase —. which now allows those born 1961 and earlier — came in. It was a sunny day on April 12 but with a bone chilling wind. I started out early as I did not want to miss this opportunity to get vaccinated, planning on catching a late brekkie well ahead of my 1:30 pm appointment. I had its special bran and coffee offer at $4 & followed it up with a BLT. It came to 16:80$ It is European in its style, serving pastries baked in-house & prides itself on its coffee. It also serves a range of sandwiches. Business in takeouts was brisk & a few brave souls like me sat outside on that coldest of days. It will be nice when the wine bar will be able to open again.
