My spouse loves and craves Hawaiian poke. I enjoy it when I have it. So I was pleasantly surprised at just how *much* I enjoyed the poke bowl I had. I opted for Ala Moana, one of their set bowls. With sockeye salmon and spicy...tuna, I had a tasty mix of Japanese and Mexican flavours over brown rice with surimi (not crab) salad and wakame included. The flavours and textures worked very well together and left a lovely glow of spice in my mouth. The experienced poke-lover created her own combination with ahi tuna, and even she was impressed. When we have reason to travel to Kits (such as a movie at the nearby Fifth Avenue Cinemas) and want a fast, inexpensive meal, we are probably going to go here first.
