I was delighted to get a table to watch the crowds on Ste Catherine Street E on one of the busiest days of the year in The Village. I have not had a bad meal in Montreal in decades because profit margins for restaurants in...Quebec are much lower than the rest of Canada and locals eat out a lot, meaning mediocre restaurants don’t tend to survive very long here. This restaurant claims to have been around for many, many years and yet they struggled to take orders correctly, to know how to identify their own tables, and to know when to clear plates. I ordered a couple of classic dishes from the table d’hôte Menu and we did not eat most of it. Good news is that you can run across the street and buy beer or wine to consume at the table to enjoy people watching.
