The food was good as it usually is at Red Lobster. Our server was very polite but was obviously busy (as expected on a Saturday evening. They had the air conditioning up so high that a number of patrons had on sweaters despite the 40+ humidex. It’s fair that the wait staff is running around and probably appreciate it. They did turn it down when a few tables mentioned feeling colds. Our only complaint was the way our OpenTable priority wait list reservation was handled. We made the “reservation” for 7:30 and arrived 7 minutes early. We were told that we had been checked in and would be put near the top of the list but wouldn’t get called next. We sat down and listened as everyone was told there’s about a 25 minute wait. We waited and watched as they seated numerous other tables of two, that didn’t have an OpenTable priority list seating reservation get seated before us. Finally at 7:46, after a number of others who arrived after we did got seated. I wouldn’t be bothered by this if we hadn’t bothered to use OpenTable but we did. I’m disappointed in OpenTable for allowing this false “reservation” and in Red Lobster for not honoring it.
