We had this reservation booked for weeks with anticipation of Top Chef reviews. From the welcome it got off to a bad start. We are enjoying safely dining indoors again now knowing patrons must be checked for vaccination. The hostess walked away as we approached...so another employee offered to help. He did ask to see our vaccination cards, but no ID check was taken to validate, which was a bit disappointing. Then he said he couldn’t find where we were seated as the hostess was obviously moving things around. We waited until she returned, to zero acknowledgment of our presence. She said to the employee that she moved us and indicated to him where to seat us, with no polite gesture to enjoy our dinner. We were seated in the middle of a room next to families with children. Not the intimate dining experience we had hoped for so far. The cocktails were excellent, the food was lovely, but the wine never arrived until after our first course and we had to ask for our glasses to be refilled. Overall it was a fine dinner. Not superb. There are better dining options in Vancouver with far better service. I would skip this high priced option as the hype does not meet the experience.
