A London themed pub could reasonably be expected to emulate....well, a London pub, right? Okay, there's the murky lighting after sunset, and nice exposed bricks, some signage and decor--but beyond that, it's pretty much your average run-of-the-mill sports bar. There are a fair number of...choices when it comes to beer, but few of them are really very challenging--it's all pretty average. Hey, here's an idea--why not serve something like you might find in a London pub! Ever hopeful, I did find a couple of selections that were palatable. Food. Oh dear. Apparently eating is supposed to happen once your taste buds are three sheets to the wind. It wasn't outright awful, but it was blandly forgettable. Now, some people think that English cuisine really is that way. The offerings on the menu would do nothing to dispell that myth. The one aspect that The London Pub has right is the service. Very attentive, and pleasant. I honestly don't think I could remember that many orders and faces. I made sure I gave my server a decent tip, because she really earned it. Overall, a pleasant place with a great deal of potential, but frustratingly unfulfilled potential. Hopefully next time I visit, something will impress me, but my last visit felt...average.
