I ordered takeout on a Monday and was there around 1:30. The restaurant was empty except for a few takeout orders being processed. The three of us ordered the following: • Vegetable tempura (8 pieces for $8.95) – usual assortment of vegetables including bell pepper....• Agedashi tofu ($5.95) with bonita flakes • “Veggie” combo ($11.95) - avocado roll, veggie roll, 2 pieces Inari - sushi rice stuffed in bean curd skin • Chicken teriyaki bento box ($12.95) – teriyaki chicken, California roll, salad, steamed rice and tempura (2 shrimp and vegetables). You can substitute the tempura for gyoza or agedashi tofu. • Spicy bento box ($16.95) – basic fresh green salad, spicy pork, spicy salmon roll, spicy tuna sashimi and spicy chicken karaage. In lieu of chicken karaage your other options include spicy deep fried gyoza or spicy agedashi tofu. Ratings breakdown • Food quality and taste – Over all the food was tasty. There were no major issues with the food. The agedashi tofu was not crispy; but expected because it was in a takeout container but on the other hand, tempura had a light crispy batter. I had the spicy bento box and despite the description “spicy”, in my opinion it wasn’t; maybe a “2” on a scale of 10. The chicken karaage was not spicy and the marinade sauce didn’t help with the crispiness of the karaage; in fact not crunchy. • Price vis–à–vis portion size – The total bill was $59.59 before the tip - above average value. See photos. • Service – order was processed in a timely manner Overall, a satisfying lunch. I would rate the food at 3.75 out of 5 – above average to good. Notes & Tips • Also has limited number of Korean dishes. Don’t think I’ve ever had spicy pork as an ingredient in a Japanese bento box – Korean influence? • Clean, spartan decor. Seating for 36+ in 8 booths and tables, 6 seats at the counter. • Credit cards accepted • Check restaurant website for additional informationMore
