We heard about this cafe through friends who were raving about this new bakery in Chinatown. I'm always game to try new baked goods so we decided to try it out! They had this cookie called the white rabbit and the first thing to come...to mind is that chewy sticky buttery goodness and we ordered that. It was a white rabbity as I thought it'd be but I still enjoyed it. Not too sweet, good chew and super buttery. We saw on one of their posts, the Kouign (pronounced queen BTW) au chocolate. And this is absolutely amazing. Buttery, flakey, chocolatey, mochi-ey... I could go on and on but this is a non-negotiable if you visit. Their description is even mouth-watering... "Laminated (not sure if I'd start with that) pastry dough with coconut butter mochi and chocolate hazelnut praline ganache heart, caramelized sugar crust, chrysanthemum honey glaze, toasted hazelnuts, 24K gold flakes". You might think that was my favourite... it is but a very close second is their lunchbox cookie. This one is FUNKY! (In a good way). After I took my first bite, it was crunchy and crumbly and then it had a spicy kick. Totally didn't expect that but I liked it. Another surprise coming up... pork floss on the top. I'm saying yes to that salty and savoury goodness. What?! Another surprise.... lap cheong otherwise know as Chinese Sausage. I like to call that Asian bacon and everything's better with that! Put that all together and you get an epic cookie that tastes different with every bite. So Andrew is the Owner/Baker/Chief Pastry Officer. Fantastic guy and the mastermind behind all of these incredible treats. Make sure to visit here and I've already ordered more treats for my work family (aka myself too!).
