I’ve tasted many a pizza over the years. Tossed my fair share having worked in two pizzerias too. Mama Rosa is rated #1 in Orleans Ontario but I just can’t give it the same rave! Service: 5/5. Great phone service and I was told 15...mins. Got there exactly in 15 mins and it took 16 mins to come out of the oven. The front of house guy greeted me with a smile and even built a good rapport with me while I waited that extra minute. Good job Sir! Food: 1/5. The crust was undercooked and so floppy every piece couldn’t hold any toppings! Speaking of toppings, neither the sauce nor the pepperoni was close to the edge. But the pepperoni was thick and the cheese stringy so at least there’s that. Freebies: 1/5. They boast everything is homemade. You get one free garlic dip. I asked who the owners are and I would expect a garlic sauce to at least taste garlic. I wonder if they give it away because nobody wants it. To be fair, my palate is maybe a little pickier than most. But don’t call it garlic if it don’t taste like garlic. Cleanliness: 4/5. From the front of house and what I could see if the kitchen and chefs, it looked good to me. I wasn’t worried to put food someone else touched with their own fingers during a Pandemic, into my mouth. And finally Price: 3/5. The MamaMia came at an average $24.80. That means Mama Rosa just squeaked by to pass at 56%. Mama would be disappointed as am I. But the location was good, parking free, service friendly and it’s Friday night. Beggars can’t be choosers.
