After being open a mere five weeks before lockdown, this great spot has re-opened with a rooftop patio plus a city-blessed street patio that feels entirely European. Perhaps the café scene will come to Toronto and will be the good that comes out of the...bad past few months. We drank a couple of bottles of excellent Italian rosé to go with our starters of Cavolo Nero, really delicious black kale salad, and Cavoletti di Bruxelles, another amazing bunch of flavours with sprouts, seeds and Parmesan. For mains we shared a classic Margherita, as good as you’d expect from an Italian flavoured restaurant with a wood fired pizza oven, and Risotto verde, really flavourful with chlorophyll stained rice, hen of the woods mushrooms and pine nuts. Bravo for pulling that off. We almost passed on dessert and we were by now stuffed to the brim, but our friendly server prevailed on me to try the Tiramisu. Delicious. The décor is stunning: terracotta everywhere reflecting the warmth of a Tuscan evening. When normality returns the several floors of dining spaces will reopen with gusto!More
