I have spent a lot of time working in Japan and developed a love of ramen - Tantanmen Ramen in particular. I have been to many Ramen Restaurants outside of Japan trying to find good tantanmen. At last I have found the best at Santouka....Their Tantanmen is excellent as were other styles I have tried. The restaurant is very small and often has lineups outside but it is worth the wait. Service is pleasant and fast - typical of usual Japanese ramen experience. Tip - I have found that you can beat the crowds by either having a late lunch or early dinner. They also have some mid-afternoon specials. I enjoy the tantanmen so much that I schedule my day so I can visit mid-afternoon to savour the meal without the crowds.
