we've been coming here for some 18 years. we started when it was Tandoori King. the story goes that two brothers started the restaurant but had a fight. one brother stayed and the other opened another restaurant literally just around the corner but it burned...down. then some years ago this place was taken over by the present owners who kept almost everything the same, preserving the tasty dishes. we went to the other place at it's new location (original tandoori king) and the food was so insipid that we didn't even take our left-over's home much to the chagrin of the waitress. everything we have is excellent. look, it's a family run business not a Michelin Star restaurant so let's take it for what it is, good food. even the staff eat their own food. the portions are good, the food is consistent and the service is prompt. yes the interior is a little worn but they concentrate on the food not the decor. that's also because the vast majority of their business is take-out and delivery. we've heard stories of people who want free delivery 45 minutes away and then complain when the food arrives lukewarm. we pretty much always order the same few things because they are so freakin tasty! we order the malai kofta, palak paneer, chile mushroom, garlic naan and plain rice. sometimes if we're especially hungry we'll start with the gobi pakoras or prawn pakoras. they have a lot of customers who have been coming for many years like us so that speaks volumes. we haven't found such great food at such reasonable prices anywhere else in all these years.
