When there are old Chinese grannies waiting in line to enter the restaurant at 5pm, you know it's a decent Chinese restaurant. The restaurant is excellent for being what it presents itself to be: an authentic Chinese food restaurant with great tasting dishes at very...reasonable prices. All the dishes' flavours were on point. Our "set meal" came with the daily soup (pork & mo qua), a bucket of white rice, dessert (sweet potato/coconut/tapioca dessert) and 4 dishes off their extensive list + a lobster or tilapia. All that for less than $100 out the door. Last meal was: crispy skinned chicken, beef/black fungus/lily flower hot pot, chicken gizzards with garlic stems, seafood with vegetables (broccoli), and lobster in cream sauce. I paid an extra $5 to add some noodles under the lobster to absorb all the sauce. The 4 of us (2 adults and 2 kids) ate until we were stuffed. We had enough leftovers for one more meal at home by making our own rice. There may be aspects of the place that might put off some people but if you're prepared for it, it's not a big deal. 1. They take reservations but any reservation after about 530pm has a high probability of being off/late due to the amount of people at the restaurant. 2. It's not really healthy. Fat, salt & MSG = yummy. The meats used in the dishes aren't overly fatty but almost EVERYTHING is oil blanched. I'd rather eat this type of meal less often but go full throttle when I do. 3. The restaurant's business is based on throughput of customers and the servers are busy. This sometimes affects the attentiveness of the servers. Just be aware. I drive in from the tri-cities to eat dinner here. Totally worth it. I have not had any disappointing dishes yet from this place.
