Had I simply walked by this restaurant that actually faces on Slater Street, I would likely have kept going, but we were meeting friends who had been there several times before. It is a few feet below street level and so is not in an...easy line of sight while walking by, but if you venture down the three or four steps you will be well rewarded. My wife and I arrived early for lunch and had an unhurried coffee and a tea while waiting for our friends. Our server, Sarah was ever attentive and when our friends arrived was quickly over to take drink orders. The beer and wine choices are limited but there is something for everyone on the list. I had a Creemore draught and my wife had a nice Pinot Grigio. The special of the day was a Chicken Penne in Alfredo sauce which I had as well as an addition of the soup of the day, a delightful spicy tomato and my wife had the chicken mango curry wrap, also with soup. When Sarah delivered the soup, she suggested a bit of lime and parmesan cheese made it even better which we tried and she was right! The soup was fantastic. The main course was equally good and both came as generous helpings. I will certainly return here as it had the triple header for a restaurant for me. Great food, great service and and a great atmosphere. Highly recommended for a delicious lunch in downtown OttawaMore
