Rural Attractions

Corn Maze

Come experience the wide range of rural attractions that Waterloo Region has to offer.  Eating fresh, local food is only half the fun.  There are numerous other ways for you to enjoy the countryside.

You can shop at one of Waterloo Regions Farmers' Markets, visit a pumpkin patch, get lost in a corn maze or perhaps take a horse drawn wagon or sleigh ride.  Why not visit one of our Buy Local! Buy Fresh! farms to pick-your own produce?

There are also plenty of other rural attractions that reflect the region's vibrant Agricultural heritage such as historic sites and museums.  You are invited to explore and savour the vast array of possibilities.

Woodside National Historic Site

Woodside is the boyhood home of William Lyon Mackenzie King, Canada's longest-serving Prime Minister. The house has been restored to the Victorian style of the 1890s. The importance of this residence is best reflected in King's own words: "The years that left the most abiding of all impressions and most in the way of family associations were those lived at Woodside.
