"Freshness Makes the Difference" has been the Herrle family motto since 1964 when we began selling fresh sweet corn. Today, our motto still motivates us to grow and offer the freshest fruits and vegetables, baking and preserves possible.

In Waterloo Region, our farm is know for our "fresh from the field" sweet corn. It is our signature product. We grow over 120 acres of sweet corn and pick it fresh daily. We plant our sweet corn over a ten week time period, enabling us to harvest fresh corn from mid July through to mid October, weather permitting.

We grow three main types or classifications of sweet corn-- Sugary Enhanced, Super Sweet and Gourmet Sweet. Of these types, we grow primarily yellow and bicolour varieties.

Our Farm Market opens each year when fresh strawberries are ready, generally around the middle of June. On our farm we grow ten acres of strawberries and approximately six different varieties.  We also offer pick-your-own.

In addition to sweet corn and strawberries, Herrle's Farm Market sells peas, beans, spinach, swiss chard, beets, cucumbers, zucchini, squash and pumpkins all fresh from our fields. Our other produce is also sourced locally and most of our tender fruits come from Niagara.

It was in 1858 that Peter Herrle settled the land where our farm is located. Today, the land is cared for by fifth generation Herrles. In 2008 we celebrated 150 years. We invite you to come visit us and taste the difference quality makes.

We offer fall tours for pre-school and primary school children weekdays throughout October.
